Logging body measurements

BDYCTRL keeps your weight and tape measurements on one dated list. Log them every few weeks and Journey charts the change for you.

5 steps · 3 min read

Step 1. Open the log

Every entry starts from the action menu behind the orange button. Tap Log measurements and the log opens on your history, newest first.

Each card is one save: the day it was written, how many values it holds, and the first two by name. The + writes a new one.

Step 2. Fill in what you measured

The + opens Log your stats. Weight and height come first, then the tape fields, and every cell is a number you type rather than a wheel you drag.

Anything you have measured before arrives pre-filled, so a weigh-in is one field and a save. Whatever you do not change is carried forward, and the row is written as a full snapshot.

  • Thirteen tape fields, neck down to both arms
  • Units follow your profile, kg and cm or lb and in
  • Return moves down the form without dropping the keyboard

Step 3. Run a calculator

The Calculators block holds BMI, BMR and Body Fat %. Calculate opens one over the form, pre-filled from your training profile, and the result moves as you edit the numbers.

Save result puts the number on the row you opened it from. It is part of the entry from then on, and nothing reaches the log until you save the entry itself.

Body Fat % offers two methods. Navy reads your neck and waist, so it needs tape numbers the BMI method never asks for.

Step 4. Save the entry

Save entry closes the sheet and the row lands at the top of the list, dated today.

Tap the card and Your entries opens with every value in that row, in the units your profile uses.

Nothing is overwritten. Save twice in a day and you get two rows, both complete.

Step 5. Read them back on Journey

Journey draws what you logged. The Body Stats card plots one metric at a time over 7D, 30D, 1Y or ALL, and the picker swaps which one.

Set a goal on a metric and a dashed line runs to your target under the series, so the gap is a picture rather than a number you work out.

On the free plan the picker serves weight alone and the chart stops at 30D. Logging every other metric is never gated.
